Surprise!

We are lucky enough to be contestants on season two of Renovation Resort! For those of you not familiar with the show here is a brief synopsis:

Four passionate contractor and designer duos from across North America will battle it out over eight weeks to create gorgeous, one-of-a-kind, luxurious waterfront vacation homes under the guidance of Scott McGillivray and Bryan Baeumler.

Each week we have a specific space or two (or three) to focus on. This week we were tasked with the primary bedroom and bathroom.

Primary Bedroom & Bathroom

Welcome to our Heritage Homestead. The first rooms we completed were the primary bedroom and bathroom!

The colours in each space, throughout our vacation home, have been pulled directly from a rug made by my grandmother in the 60s. That vintage feel is carried through our designs to make each space feel cozy and nostalgic with a fresh, modern twist.

Using a more minimal, warm backdrop to intentionally allow the real star of the show to shine through, the view. This was considered in the wood grain of the headboard, the large mirror reflecting the river, the green tones in the tile and bedroom accessories, and the organic bathroom floor tile, to name a few!

For each room our goal is to bring the outdoors in. We believe a vacation home should feel like an oasis. A place to unwind and put your feet up. We wanted this space to feel like a luxurious, boutique hotel, while still connecting you to your surroundings.

We used earthy, organic coloured materials in the primary bathroom to continue this theme, while applying them in modern ways. A black vanity adds depth and balances the darker shower tile and the chrome fixtures and accessories feel fresh.
